Mediation training
MESH Community Cohesion Services is an accredited provider and has been recognised as a centre to deliver NOCN qualifications. Over the years we have acquired a reputation as a centre of excellence for mediation training, and a number of mediation providers make use of our services.
As well as delivering standardised training packages we can create non-accredited courses that are taylored to your specific needs. Courses can be delivered on-site or at Scotia Works. Please contact Fiona Jervis on 0114 2412774 or e-mail using the form below to discuss your specific requirements.
We currently offer the following OCN training programmes:
Introduction to Mediation Awareness at OCN level one. The credit value is 1 credit.
Managing Conflict at OCN level two. The credit value is 1 credit – this is a conflict management programme that can equip people with an understanding, insight and skills base to better deal with situations where they find themselves in conflict.
Programme for Community Mediation Skills at OCN level three – the credit value is twelve credits. This is the training course used by most mediation charities around the country to train their volunteer mediators. This involves 40 hours taught time, 40 hours private study and 40 hours casework. If you are choosing to volunteer for MESH there is an expectation that you give an extra 20 hours – giving a total of 60 hours casework.
This course can also be tailored to meet your specific mediation needs - please contact us to discuss your requirements. The cost of the OCN course is £900, however for those wishing to volunteer the course is free.
