Get £500 towards the cost of your Family Mediation

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has launched a time-limited voucher scheme which will provide a contribution of up to £500 towards the mediation costs for eligible cases, supporting people in resolving their family law disputes outside of court, where appropriate. The Government has set up the scheme in response to Covid-19 to support recovery in the family court and to encourage more people to consider mediation as a means of resolving their disputes, where appropriate.

The £500 voucher is available in cases where the potential dispute involves children. It is available to all families even though they would normally not get legal aid (although availability is time-limited by the government). The £500 Family Mediation Vouchers can be used to fully or part fund mediation sessions but not to fund MIAMs (Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting). MIAMs are free if you are eligible for legal aid. MESH normally charge £100 per person for a MIAM.

Contact the MESH team to see if you are eligible for these new £500 Family Mediation Vouchers or click on the link below to access the government’s information website. There are also links to check if you are eligible for legal aid.
